ABOUT US
In August of 2008, Floating Island Environmental Solutions (FIES) became the first license holder in the United States to manufacture and sell BioHaven® Floating Islands of 25 sq. ft. or greater. FIES is a family owned and operated company founded by Ted and Alethia Martin and their five children, Nicole, Chad, Monique, Melanie and Jason. Located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, FIES will serve the entire Gulf Coast including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
The inspiration and development of Floating Island Environmental Solutions grew out of the Martins’ great desire to help preserve the coastline of their home state of Louisiana. The Louisiana coastline has served as the backdrop of countless Martin family memories, and its rapid disappearance is a source of great concern not only for the residents of Louisiana and other Gulf Coast states who share in this problem, but also for the entire country.
There are many applications for BioHaven® Floating Islands such as cleansing water and improving water quality, nurturing wildlife habitats, enhancing waterscapes, and restoring coastlines. FIES is eager to explore new applications for BioHaven® Floating Islands and to expand the market for this unique cost effective, virtually maintenance free product.
